FAQs

Answers to frequently asked questions…..and stuff you didn’t ask about, but we want you to know:

Do you accept late registrations?

Yes, we always accept late registration, although we REALLY appreciate as much advance notice as

possible so that we can maximize “moving up” opportunities with our merges/splits.

Do I have to print my dancer's number card, or do you print them?

We provide printed competitor number cards. White for Orange State (Saturday) and purple for Cara

Dances On (Sunday). These get printed the Monday before the feis so that registration can organize them.

Please note that if late registrations impact merges and/or splits (see above), then the competition

numbers on your card may not match the competitions that your dancer is actually in. Please check your

child’s registration in www.ifeis.net and update your dancer’s card if there is a discrepancy.

When is registration open?

Registration will be open Friday from 5-8pm, Saturday from 7am-8pm and Sunday at 9am. If no one is

at the registration desk (far end of the Atlantic Ballroom foyer), or if you need something outside of these

hours, pop in to the tabulation room that’s to the right of registration and someone there can help you.

Do Champ competitions start with hard shoe or soft shoe?

Champ competitions start with soft shoe. Yes, we know, it’s not the standard, but this feis is run by

parent volunteers who share the pain of paying for electrical tape and then seeing it unceremoniously

discarded in a wad on the floor. Plus, who enjoys the stress of retaping quickly between rounds?

How much is parking at the Westin?

Parking is valet only. Registered guests get a reduced rate of $30/day and day-visitors get a reduced rate

of $15/day. (We know, it’s still a lot…. but, better than regular Fort Lauderdale Beach rates!)

Will you have a dress rack?

We do have dress racks. They are not “monitored” but they will be next to registration and they will be

locked in the tabulation room over-night.

Is someone available to do wigs?

Anyone wanting help with a wig on Saturday, Isabel Dalu is taking appointments and you can reach her

via text at: 954-592-0306.

HOTEL SAFETY

There are escalators. We know that kids love to play on and near the escalators. The hotel, however, does

not like the liability of having unsupervised children on or near the escalators. Please, do not allow your

children to play on or near the escalators. (We reserve the right to feed double shots of espresso and pixie sticks to children caught playing on the escalators, before returning them to their parents).

CLRG EXAMINATIONS

CLRG is conducting examinations for TCRG and ADCRG candidates this weekend. They will be using

our stages all day Friday and on Sunday morning. While they are using our stages, the ballrooms are

closed to the public. The grade level ballroom (A/B) will be open on Sunday morning so that you can

access vendors, but please do not enter the “champ” (C) ballroom until the CLRG “mini-feis” is

concluded.

We want you to know that we appreciate your participation this weekend and hope that you have a wonderful time in Fort Lauderdale!
